Makeup haul! (featuring, GOSH, MUA, QVS superdrug)

Hey my little puddings, I hope you are all well! 🙂

It’s time for a new makeup haul, I went down to my local Superdrug yesterday for some much needed retail therapy. Shhhh! Don’t tell anyone! 😉

Now, I hope you’re proud of me, I managed to pull myself away from looking at Barry M nail varnishes, as I have far too many already and I left nail varnish free, now let me show you what I did get…

I also love the packaging, and I think it looks very professional with the white and black colour scheme, and it also looks more expensive than it actually is. (RRP £7.99)

I’ve been meaning to try out a new liquid foundation, as I’ve always been stuck in that boring ‘stick to what you know’ routine with my foundations, and ALWAYS bought either Max factors ‘Lasting performance’ (in 100/Fair) or L’Oreal ‘True match’ (in true ivory) but truth be told, while they both were fantastic in my opinion, I didn’t feel like they were light enough for my skin tone. Not light enough?! You are thinking…I know, I know. I love to have a really pale ‘snow white’ face. I’m not saying deathly pale…anyway. –

After reading many reviews on the GOSH X-ceptional foundation in the shade (11/porcelain) I thought I’d give it a go. Many said it was the palest foundation they have seen, and bought it time after time just for the lightness of it. Many ‘red heads’ said that this foundation is perfect for their really pale skin tone, so I thought perfect!

I love the consistency of this foundation, it’s not super runny like some I’ve tried, and it’s far from thick and cakey… also, a small amount seems to go a long way, which makes the foundation even more great value for money! Upon application it doesn’t drag, and goes on smooth and evenly (I use either a makeup sponge or a foundation brush). It also felt light on my face and the shade is perfect for me and gives me the level of paleness I wanted. I’d also say this foundation is matte though it does have light reflecting particles in it, you can always add a powder on the top to make it extra matte, not that I think there is any need to. So smiles all round! 😀

Now I have this foundation I really can’t see how I’ve never tried it before, and shall make it my foundation to buy all the time now!

Next I decided to buy a foundation brush… I did want to get the GOSH one, but my superdrug didn’t have it in, and I didn’t want to spend lots on a synthetic brush that wasn’t my first choice, so I decided to get the superdrug own brand foundation brush…

This brush was only £4.99 and I have to say, for the price and it being a non brand (QVS at Superdrug), it’s a really good brush. It’s also soooo soft on the skin and applies product evenly.

Now, the next thing I bought was a replacement for not buying any nail varnish… I mean, I was stood at the Barry M section, drooling over all their pretty colours, and then I thought to myself “no, Laura. You don’t need anymore right now” So I walked away, and found myself looking at MUA… and then this caught my eye.

MUA, fur effect nails (RRP £3). How tacky cool is this?! I picked up the colour ‘Fluffy puff’ because honesty, that was the only colour that appealed to me. (I’m a huge sucker for pastels and soft pinks) I can’t wait to try this out, the colour is gorgeous and reminds me of candy floss! I wish MUA would bring this out in the colour black, I think it would look very chic.

As soon as I try this out I’ll be sure to do a post on it! I’m loving textured nails at the moment, and I think fur nails will look amazing, Infact I can’t think of any other brand that has brought out fur effect for nails before…

What do you think of any of the products here? What about those furry nails eh? 😉
