Juicy lips for spring/summer

Hey my lovely puddings,

I bought a new lipstick. (I know, like I need anymore right?) but it was only £1, so….it’s not that big of a deal. Ok. 😛

Only £1?! I hear you ask. This lipstick is by MUA. They have a large selection of colours and shades, all just for £1. How could I say no?

I picked up “Juicy” (shade 15) which is a lovely soft, matte peachy/coral colour. I thought it would be perfect to wear in spring and summer.

The packaging is simple yet effective. It was very helpful that at the base of the bullet, there is a see through pot, which contains the same lipstick and colour. This made it very easy to see what each colour was like when they were all stacked up on the shelf. 🙂

In the bullet, the lipstick looks very bright, however once applied to my lips it was a very soft colour and could work for many skin tones, as it’s not an unforgiving, bright orangey coral.

I’m usually a strict, reds and pinks lipstick lover, but I have to say when I swatched juicy on my hand, the colour was stunning. there’s a very, spring/summer, beach vibe with it. I also LOVE the name. 😛

I found I had to apply very generously, at least two coats for it to apply evenly and get the best result. Though for £1 what else could I expect. Apart from that, this lipstick has great colour pay off, and wasn’t at all drying on my lips either (which was a fabulous surprise) I seem to always get in my head that cheap = rubbish quality. And while with some makeup products that can be true, with MUA that is definitely not the case.

What do you think of the colour? Do you have any MUA lipsticks, if so what colours? 😀

NOTD – vampy red

Hey my little puddings!

I recently bought a new nail varnish, as I had £1 left on my superdrug gift card… I have to spend every last penny! haha 😉

So, what could I get for cheap? I went straight for the MUA, and had a browse through the lovely nail varnishes. I was torn between their –

“Frozen Yoghurt”

“Red Fever”.

After convincing myself I have far too many pastel like colours, I put frozen yoghurt back (as much as I love the name) and went for the lovely vampy “red fever”. I love red nails, and my estee lauder reds are very old, and not as good as they were. So this is a much welcomed addition! 😛

So here is my NOTD, in MUA’s “Red fever”.

I’m sorry about the distracting glare on the bottle, there was rubbish lighting, so the flash went off every time. Isn’t it a lovely colour? A vampy, dark red. This would look perfect for winter/autumn.

Let me know what you think? Which colour would of gone for and why?

EOTD – warm eyes

Hey my little puddings,

Today’s eye of the day. I felt like having something quite warming on the eyes. I used “cookie” and “chocolate” as well as the highlighter, from the MUA artiste palette. 🙂

Oh yeah! I also went to do a bit of charity shopping/thrifting yesterday! I’ll do a more detailed post tomorrow, and show you what I got. 😀

Superdrug haul! (MUA)

Superdrug haul! I went to the MUA display in super drug today, and they had an offer on. If you bought £6 or more on MUA makeup, then you got their new Artiste palette for free! So I picked up 3 things for myself, and 2 things for my mum. Below Is photo of what I got, (including some hair dye, from L’oreal Paris – Feria, in ‘blackest black’)

MUA have a new line of blushers out, so I picked them up. They are a cream blush, new to their range. I’ve never tried cream blushers, only ever tried powder. So that will be fun. They had some lovely shades, I picked up. “BitterSweet” and “Blossom”.

(Top – BitterSweet) (Bottom – Blossom).

Below is a swatch of each blusher.

“These cream blushers are very versatile and multi-purpose. They can be directly applied to bare skin, layered over foundation or set with the matching matte blushers in the £1 MUA range. You can use blush perfection to highlight your cheekbones, shape your face, build and blend with fingers or a brush to create the colour intensity. The colour effects range from a light pink to warm shade, depending on method of application.” – MUA.

BitterSweet –

BitterSweet is a lovely soft pink blush. It’s much more subtle than powder blush (IMO) And so, makes it great for building up the colour gradually. I really love this shade, and the name! I havnt worn this yet, so cannot give a proper review, but when I do use it, I shall do a summary on it for you. 🙂

Blossom is a much more nude based pink. Really nice if you’re not a fan of, in your face, pink blushes.

Overall These blushes are fantastic value for money, at only £2 each! And come in 4 gorgeous shades!

Now, onto the palette! 😉

It’s a combination palette, as it has 6 marble eyeshadows (which all have names, which is a first for MUA) As well as two blushers, and also a bronzer and a highlighter. It’s all in a compact case, which is great for on the go!

Marbled effect eyeshadows –

It’s swatch time! 😉

The shadows are well pigmented, and also have a slight shimmer to them. They all have great names too! 😀 (I’m a sucker for nice names for makeup!) hahaha.

Mmmm, cookie and chocolate? Sounds good enough to eat, and they look gorgeous too! I have a feeling that those two will be my favourite in this palette.

Oh stop! You’re making me blush –

The Artiste collection palette also has not one, but two powder blushers.

Again, with lovely names…

Pink sparkle is much more lighter, than Primrose. They seem to have really nice pigmentation, as well as soft and easy to apply.

Bronzed beauty –

Lastly, you get 1 bronzer and 1 highlighter. now, I don’t use bronzer. This one is a rich tan colour. However, I will use the highlighter, as it’s a gorgeous subtle tone, with shimmer. In fact it is so subtle that when I tried to photograph a swatch, my camera could hardly pick it up. (it’s visible to the naked eye). Perhaps I need to wait there is better light…

So, overall this palette is brilliant! Wide choice of eye shadow colours and shades. All with strong pigments. Two lovely blushers to choose from, as well as a bronzer and highlighter! 🙂

I looked up the RRP of this, and it retails at £6. However, if you spend £6 or more on their MUA makeup in Superdrug, then you get the palette for FREE! KA-CHING!!!!
