Yummy papaya NOTD

Hello my puddings!

The weather is getting warmer, and the sun in coming out more. So that must mean summer is close. 😉

Similar to my lychee NOTD post, this is another nail of the day, using the Barry M spring gelly nail paints, that I won. Today I used Papaya.

As you can see this colour is perfect for wearing in spring/summer. It has such a beach vibe to it IMO. The colour is a light, coral/peach. Not at all a harsh red orange. I think this colour will suit most, if not all skin tones.

Again, application is fab. As is all Barry M nails paints that I have used. The high shine formula really does work, and once dry the nails look shiny and glossy. So this saved me using my top coat. Although, you could use a clear topcoat on top as well, if you wanted to.

I think that Papaya is my favourite colour out of the spring gelly collection. Even just the sound of its name makes me think of fresh, yummy fruit and hot sunshine!

What do you think of the colours in Barry M’s spring gelly range? Which one is your favourite?

Happy bunny this morning.

Hello puddings!

I’m a very happy bunny this morning! Why? Well…

Barry M ran a competition a couple of weeks back, called “Flash your lashes”. This was to promote their new lash vegas mascara.

Basically you had to take a photo of yourself, and what you would flash your lashes at. The 10 chosen winners would receive a rather brilliant a ray of barry m products. (worth around £55 in total)

  • Lash vegas mascara
  • 3 Gel eyeliners in (black, silver,champagne).
  • 4 Spring Gelly shine nail paints (Dragon fruit, lychee, papaya, green berry)
  • 4 Road texture effect nail paints (Atlantic road, Ridley road, Kingsland road, Station road).

The runners up, would receive just their lash vegas mascara.

The photo I sent was, myself flashing my lashes at some chocolate shaped high heels! 😉 and I was picked as 1/10 winners! *huge smile* This morning my prizes arrived…

Sooooooo many pretty colours. I can’t wait to swatch and try them all, and of course do blog posts about them. I mentioned before i loved the spring gellys, so they are a much welcomed addition to my collection.

Right, now I need to go out and buy some nail polish remover. hahaha 😛

Juicy lips for spring/summer

Hey my lovely puddings,

I bought a new lipstick. (I know, like I need anymore right?) but it was only £1, so….it’s not that big of a deal. Ok. 😛

Only £1?! I hear you ask. This lipstick is by MUA. They have a large selection of colours and shades, all just for £1. How could I say no?

I picked up “Juicy” (shade 15) which is a lovely soft, matte peachy/coral colour. I thought it would be perfect to wear in spring and summer.

Image

The packaging is simple yet effective. It was very helpful that at the base of the bullet, there is a see through pot, which contains the same lipstick and colour. This made it very easy to see what each colour was like when they were all stacked up on the shelf. 🙂

Image

Image

Image

In the bullet, the lipstick looks very bright, however once applied to my lips it was a very soft colour and could work for many skin tones, as it’s not an unforgiving, bright orangey coral.

Image

I’m usually a strict, reds and pinks lipstick lover, but I have to say when I swatched juicy on my hand, the colour was stunning. there’s a very, spring/summer, beach vibe with it. I also LOVE the name. 😛

I found I had to apply very generously, at least two coats for it to apply evenly and get the best result. Though for £1 what else could I expect. Apart from that, this lipstick has great colour pay off, and wasn’t at all drying on my lips either (which was a fabulous surprise) I seem to always get in my head that cheap = rubbish quality. And while with some makeup products that can be true, with MUA that is definitely not the case.

What do you think of the colour? Do you have any MUA lipsticks, if so what colours? 😀
