Flipsticks?

Hey puddings!

So, I was on superdrug.co.uk, and started looking at lipsticks (as always! Not that I need any more) anyway, it was then that I saw these double ended lipsticks called “Flipsticks” by Max factor. They instantly reminded me of doubled ended colouring pencils that I had when I was little. *nostalgia moment*

Don’t they look nifty? They are also in a ray of fabulous colours!

The description from max factor, about their flipsticks:

“Max Factor lets you push the boundaries of lip colour with its innovative double-ended design.

Colour Effect Flipstick features one rich and creamy colour and one lighter, iridescent lipstick shade.

The colour combinations were expertly matched by Max Factor make up artists and the super-blendable formula lets you create your look with ease. You can wear each colour alone, blended together, one on each lip, or apply the second shade just to the centre of your lip.

This season it’s all about lip artistry so get experimenting!”

I’m really tempted to buy a few… I love the reds and the pinks! They also look like a lot of fun to use as well. ๐Ÿ™‚

What do you think? Perhaps you already own a flipstick, please share your views.

Pink pouts #1 (lots of photos)

I thinkย definitely am addicted to pink lipsticks. So here are some swatches of a few of my pink lipsticks. Enjoy! (please excuse the state of my lips, i’ve recently got over a really horrible cold)

This is Avon’s pink lipstick called “pink pop” (love the name). It appears very dark in the bullet, however it is actually a sheer, almost transparent nude pink, with flecks of sparkly glitter in it. Perfect for making your lips appear more full. It also smells of aniseed! YUM ๐Ÿ˜›

Swatching the lipstick on your hand you can see just how pale, and shimmery it really is.

Image

This is very much a day time/natural looking lipstick. I’m not a huge fan of shimmery lips, and much prefer the punch of colour that a solid matte lipstick gives, but I love this one! ๐Ÿ™‚

It glides easy on the lips, no drag. Doesn’t dry out the lips, I would say however it does slide/move on the lips, and is very easy to accidentally wipe off, i think this is because it is so sheer.

The next pout…

is another lipstick from avon. “Perfect Rose”. ย This is an old lipstick from Avon, I got given this from my mum, who wasn’t keen on the colour. So in the makeup bag it went. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve almost used all of it!

Image

it comes in a sleek gold bullet, I just love gold packaging. hahaha…

“Perfect Rose”.

It’s a subtle pink when on the lips, not overbearing. It has a slight sheerness to it, but not as much as avon’s “pink pop”. Again, not drying and applies lovely. And it doesn’t slide about once on the lips either.

The last pink pout… (and the most “in your face” pink I have)

This is “Stormy pink” by Revlon. It’s from their Super Lustrous range.

This pink is bright, bold, in your face and unforgiving. It’s a very blue based/toned pink, making it a cool tone. I heard others saying it was a close dupe for the Nikki Minaj “pink friday” by MAC. ย So thought I’d get this, I do still really want pink friday though. โค

Image

Stormy pink is a matte lipstick. Making that bold colour even more eye popping. I wouldn’t say it was drying, but it’s not moisturising either. I’d recommend conditioning your lips beforehand.

A few of my pink lipsticks I have, I have swatched on my hand below. Just so you can see the range in tones & shades. ๐Ÿ™‚ย Image

Do you have a favourite lipstick colour? What is it and why? Mine has to be, “Stormy Pink” and “Perfect rose”

Barry M ‘baby pink’

Okay okay, so this isn’t a new buy, but I just love lipsticks and pink & red are my weaknesses…

This is the Barry M ‘100’ Baby pink. It’s a very light, cotton candy pink, and also has a generous amount of white pigment, which can make it difficult to wear, depending on your skin tone…I’d say it would work better for those with a paler complexion. (but, if you love it, then go for it!!!!) The texture of the lip paint is a satin with VERY little sheen to it, and fairly opaque, so I’d recommend applying lip balm first, and also to make sure your lips are in perfect condition before hand, as this lip paint has a tendency to highlight flaws in your lips.

Below are some swatches…

As you can see, I’ve used this quite a lot…I just love the lightness of it. ๐Ÿ˜€ (looks so much darker in the bullet).

Here shows just how light this lip paint is. When on the lips it’s a little more pale, (on me anyway)
