The nude lip

Hello my lovelies, and how are we all?

Now, I don’t think I need to tell you all that I’m a bit obsessed with lipsticks. (I still need to do a post on my collection so far!) Anyway, I went to Superdrug and bought a few bits and bobs, to help me create a nude lip.

That’s right, a nude lip… I’m usually a bold red lip or pink in your face lip look. But lately I’ve been seeing nude lips more often, and I’ve started to really like them.

A nude lip is very wearable, with shades to suit every skin tone. It’s also a great way to help keep the focus on your eye makeup. A nude lip just sets off smokey eyes. (just look at Kim Kardashian)

Image

Image

Perhaps thats why many celebs rock the nude lip look! It’s effortlessly easy, and goes with any colour on your eyes. Not to mention it looks so glam when done right!

Image

Image

Even the lovely, Lady gaga has rocked a nude lip. 😉

Image

Image

You can do a nude lip with a combination of, lip liner, lipstick and gloss for finnish. Or just the lipstick and gloss. I do think however by using a lip liner to define your natural lip line makes the nude lip pop against your skin tone, and help give definition. I mean, just because we are going for a nude lip, doesn’t mean you have to loose that sexy plump defined look either! YOU CAN HAVE BOTH, LADIES!!!! 😛

I shall do a post on my little nude lip makeup haul soon, and then my own nude lip look too. So stay tuned for that! 😀

Eye shadow dilema! HELP!

Hey my puddings!

So, I’m having a last minute panic attack. haha. Ok, maybe that is a slight over exaggeration, but I’m having a colour crisis.

I’m having an early 21st cocktail party tomorrow evening, and I really want to try and do my eye makeup similar to this, gorgeous peach/brown cut crease.

Image

Now, I found this on we heart it, and so have NO IDEA who did this look/the blog it came from. Otherwise I would have just followed the link through, and see if they listed the colours they used.

I have all the colours for this look, except that gorgeous peachy colour on the inner corner of her eye. Isn’t  it just divine?! 😉

So, if anyone can help me and if you know of a brand that does a similar peachy colour I’d be so grateful. I’m going to head down to my local superdrug/boots tomorrow morning. It doesn’t matter wether it’s in a single pot, or part of a palette. (reasonable prices please!) And I’m in the UK, incase you don’t know. 🙂

Summer breeze makes me feel fine.

Maybe it’s because of all this sun and warmth lately, and that on saturday I’m having an early birthday party, cocktails out in the garden! So I decided to do a collection of images that make me feel very summery…. a summer mood board.

Hopefully it will bring a ray of sunshine on your day.

Yummy papaya NOTD

Hello my puddings!

The weather is getting warmer, and the sun in coming out more. So that must mean summer is close. 😉

Similar to my lychee NOTD post, this is another nail of the day, using the Barry M spring gelly nail paints, that I won. Today I used Papaya.

Image

Image

As you can see this colour is perfect for wearing in spring/summer. It has such a beach vibe to it IMO. The colour is a light, coral/peach. Not at all a harsh red orange. I think this colour will suit most, if not all skin tones.

Again, application is fab. As is all Barry M nails paints that I have used. The high shine formula really does work, and once dry the nails look shiny and glossy. So this saved me using my top coat. Although, you could use a clear topcoat on top as well, if you wanted to.

Image

I think that Papaya is my favourite colour out of the spring gelly collection. Even just the sound of its name makes me think of fresh, yummy fruit and hot sunshine!

Image

What do you think of the colours in Barry M’s spring gelly range? Which one is your favourite?

NOTD – Lychee

Hi puddings!

Today is a nail of the day post. Featuring one of the nail paints that I won from the barry M ‘flash your lashes’ comp, see what I won here 🙂

This is Lychee. One of Barry M’s new spring gelly nail paints. It is a natural, soft beige/nude colour.

Image

Image

I think that this colour can work on a variety of skin tones, and it’s a perfect colour to wear as is, or even layer glitter over, or use it as a base colour for nail art. Application is a dream, as to be exspected. It applies smoothly, and evenly. I would say it takes a little longer to dry/stays ‘squidgey’ for longer than the ‘normal’ nail paints. Though that is probably because of the formula, as it is the high shine, gellys. (I’ve never had/tried any until now).

Image

Image

Overall this colour is fabulous, and very different from anything i have in my collection so far. I have many pastel pinks, and taupe. But no actual nude based colours, so Lychee (what a yummy name too!) is a much welcomed addition. 😉

Happy bunny this morning.

Hello puddings!

I’m a very happy bunny this morning! Why? Well…

Barry M ran a competition a couple of weeks back, called “Flash your lashes”. This was to promote their new lash vegas mascara.

Basically you had to take a photo of yourself, and what you would flash your lashes at. The 10 chosen winners would receive a rather brilliant a ray of barry m products. (worth around £55 in total)

  • Lash vegas mascara
  • 3 Gel eyeliners in (black, silver,champagne).
  • 4 Spring Gelly shine nail paints (Dragon fruit, lychee, papaya, green berry)
  • 4 Road texture effect nail paints (Atlantic road, Ridley road, Kingsland road, Station road).

The runners up, would receive just their lash vegas mascara.

The photo I sent was, myself flashing my lashes at some chocolate shaped high heels! 😉 and I was picked as 1/10 winners! *huge smile* This morning my prizes arrived…

Image

Sooooooo many pretty colours. I can’t wait to swatch and try them all, and of course do blog posts about them. I mentioned before i loved the spring gellys, so they are a much welcomed addition to my collection.

Right, now I need to go out and buy some nail polish remover. hahaha 😛
